Thought for April
Growth
means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the
unknown.

Reflections: The I know its spring in I love the magical and mystical in life. Every winter while the temperatures flirt
with the obscene and several feet of snow blanket the earth, I pause to
wonder: How can new life come after
all of this? Each year I am reminded
of the magical and mystical phoenix. Similar to the changing seasons, I think spirituality is very much
like the phoenix. We have times of new
awakening, life within the new awakening, and then death as we grow and
change yet some more. The wonderful
part is the knowing that resurrection is always just around the bend. Death
is not forever! I think of the times I have
experienced a death in my life, only to rise, yet again, out of the ashes to
face a re-birth. Some of these deaths are literal, such as the loss of my mom and
dad. Other deaths are less obvious,
such as the loss of sight in my eye, the loss of a spiritual vision, the loss
of self-esteem, the loss of a relationship--to name a few. And yet here I am. The changing seasons serve as a model for our lives through birth,
life, death, and resurrection.. This
model is evident, not only in our physical lives, but also in our mental,
spiritual and emotional lives. Again
and again we die to something and then are re-born into something new. The phoenix syndrome happens continually
throughout our lives until one day we find ourselves born anew in a realm
outside of the planet earth. A time
and place with many different names, where we have better understanding of
what our lives were about and a deeper experience of the unconditional love
of our creator. Spring is upon us! I wish you
renewal in the midst of all of life’s resurrection possibilities. Namaste’ Have You Called Your Sidekick Lately?

The
Eight Essentials For a Healthy and Thriving Congregation is an eight session class designed for churches.
The
Eight Essentials For a Healthy and Thriving Congregation; Developing a Strategy

provides the ground work for putting the Eight Essentials into action.
Putting
a Little Character into Christmas
was written to add some educational fun to the Advent Season. Again, it is relative to the Christian
church.
Open
Hearts, Open Doors; Opening the Doors to the Transgender Community Again, this course is relative to the Christian church
and available for free download, complete with a detailed leader’s guide. You will find this one under Transgender

If you, your church or organization are seeking a
workshop, please contact me. I can
custom write it for you and teach it myself or write a leadership guide so
you can teach it yourself. One such
idea is for The Eight Essentials for a Healthy and Thriving
Organization. This would be the same
concepts without the Christian influence and biblical references.
